Terms of service

These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the DishCover mobile application and related services (the "Service") provided by DishCover ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Account terms
- You may create one account per person.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Credit system
- Credits are the in-app currency used to access AI features (menu scanning, chat).
- Credits are purchased via in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
- Purchased credits do not expire.
- Free credits may be provided upon signup and are subject to the same terms as purchased credits.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests must be directed to the respective platform:

- Google: Request a refund
We do not process refunds directly.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
AI disclaimer
The Service uses artificial intelligence to translate menus and provide information about dishes. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. Specifically:
- Translations are approximate and should not be relied upon for medical or dietary decisions.
- Dish descriptions are generated by AI and may not reflect the actual preparation or ingredients.
- Allergy information provided by the AI is not guaranteed to be accurate. Always confirm allergens with restaurant staff.
- The Service is not a substitute for professional medical, dietary, or nutritional advice.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, and content, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your menu photos and chat content remain yours.
Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Unused credits are not refundable upon termination for cause.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
